Skin and ear disease can be highly uncomfortable for pets, frustrating for owners and time consuming for busy general practice veterinarians. Very commonly, owners seek a second opinion when they become frustrated with their pet’s ongoing or recurrent skin disease. Referring an animal with skin disease to somebody with advanced skill level can be helpful to retain existing clients.
Intradermal Allergy Testing can be performed and allergy vaccine for Allergy Specific Immunotherapy (ASIT) can be offered as part of the service. Detailed notes with diagnostic results and treatment plans will be provided to the referring veterinarian to allow consistency in ongoing care.

Here at TRC we have digital radiology, digital fluoroscopy and cone-beam CT capability.
We also have access to off-site fan beam PET CT and MRI imaging and can usually get an appointment within a week, occasionally on the same day depending on their human case load and staff availability.
All referrals for advanced imaging have a consultation with Dr Trudi McAlees to assess the stability of your pet for general anaesthesia and to discuss which of the different imaging modalities is best in your particular case.
